Preserving the Roots of Tradition While Cultivating Tomorrow
Italy builds bridges to the future without losing touch with its past.
At Puglia Paradise, this spirit inspires a unique sustainability project: restoring two ancient olive groves near Alberobello. These groves surround some of our most loved villas, offering guests a deeper connection with Puglia’s land and culture.

Reviving a Centuries-Old Landscape
Among these properties stands Villa Solivetta, a beautiful villa with a private pool in the heart of Puglia’s Valle d’Itria. This region is Italy’s main olive oil producer and one of its most scenic areas.
Although the groves were abandoned years ago, they are now being revived with care. Step by step, they are returning to life and offering a glimpse into the traditions that shaped this region.
Why Olive Trees Matter in Puglia
Puglia produces nearly 40% of Italy’s olive oil. Its extra virgin olive oil is world-famous for its purity and flavor. Olive trees are more than crops here; they are symbols of resilience, culture, and family.

However, the region faces challenges. The bacterial disease Xylella fastidiosa has destroyed over 21 million trees in southern Puglia. Around Alberobello, the infection has not spread, yet constant vigilance remains essential.
Fortunately, research and prevention are working. Scientists and farmers are developing solutions that protect both the landscape and local livelihoods.
Innovation Rooted in Nature
To secure the future, Puglia Paradise supports the planting of a resistant olive variety called “Lecciana.”
Developed by Bari University and international researchers, this cultivar is immune to Xylella. It allows new groves to thrive while preserving biodiversity.
Moreover, traditional farming techniques are still used. These methods ensure the new groves blend naturally into the ancient landscape that travelers from around the world come to admire.
As a result, Italy continues to lead Europe in biodiversity. The restored land now shelters a remarkable colony of wild orchids, proof of Puglia’s unspoiled environment.
A Sustainable Future for Puglia Paradise Guests
Guests can now stay in villas surrounded by living history — olive trees reborn for a new era.
This project connects heritage and innovation, showing that sustainability and comfort can coexist beautifully. It also invites visitors to experience the essence of Puglia: timeless beauty, warm hospitality, and deep respect for nature.
