A hands-on encounter with Puglia’s dry-stone tradition
This intimate experience brings one of Puglia’s oldest crafts directly to your villa. Guided by a Master Trullaro, guests discover how limestone, patience, and skilled hands come together to create the trullo — a symbol of the region’s rural soul.
Trulli
Built without mortar or cement, trulli are shaped through the ancient dry-stone technique. Their conical roofs are formed with chianche, thin limestone slabs carefully chosen, worked, and placed by hand, following a knowledge passed down through generations.
The Experience
The Master Trullaro creates an open-section trullo cone before the guests, revealing the inner structure, the outer chianche, the stone filling, and the delicate balance of each interlocking piece. Those who wish may gently take part by working a stone themselves, always guided by the Master.
